What the coding words mean

  1. website: A collection of webpages that belong together.
  2. webpage: One page that can be viewed in a web browser.
  3. HTML: The coding language used to organise the content of a webpage.
  4. tag: A special instruction written inside angle brackets. Most tags come in a pair: an opening tag like <h1> and a closing tag like </h1>.
  5. browser: A program that displays webpages, such as Chrome, Edge or Safari.

Hello, Web!

This code creates a simple webpage with the title “My First Webpage,” a large heading saying “Hello, web!”, and a short paragraph.

Edit index.html for your webpage’s content. Select the tab you want to edit, then select Run my code to see your changes in Preview. Your changes save separately for this activity in this browser.
